How can we stay healthy and capable for as long as possible? What if we could stay one step ahead of high blood pressure, diabetes and joint problems? Three diagnoses that do not depend on fate. And far less on our genes than we think.
Our educational holiday combines well-founded health knowledge with targeted exercise in nature. The two interlock and form the basis for long-term performance capacity and stable health, including with a view to a longer working life and the growing demands of everyday professional life.
When the golden autumn bathes the beech forests in warm light, we are right in the middle of it: cycling, learning, breathing deeply.
Seminar content:
Making it easy to stick with it: In the weeks after the seminar, we will support you with short impulses by email, so that good intentions become real habits.
Who is this course for? For working professionals who want not only to know theoretically what keeps us healthy, but to experience it directly and integrate it into their everyday lives.
Accommodation and meals: Cozy hotel rooms at the Waldgasthof Rettelbusch, a small hotel on the edge of the national park, exclusively for our group. 4 nights + half board in cozy hotel rooms. Please book your accommodation referring to Campus-Wissen.
Culinary highlights:
Vegetarian dishes are of course possible.
Prices:
Funding option: Participants from Rhineland-Palatinate can receive a 60 % subsidy on the course fee through the QualiScheck. The funding application must be submitted before registration for the seminar.
Daily schedule: Mornings: After the morning exercise (not part of the seminar), we start the day with a fortifying breakfast. Depending on the weather, we either cycle straight to the Hainich to learn, or first head to the winter garden.
Cycling & learning: The seminar content is spread across the whole day and alternates with phases of cycling. We will not be back at the accommodation until the afternoon. Cycling distance: approx. 40 km per day, woven into the seminar content. This course is an e-bike course. We ride e-bikes so that we can tackle the elevation differences in the Hainich together.
Late afternoon: Time for rest and recovery, for a coffee in the winter garden, reading a book or a social get-together. One evening an evening event is planned.
Evenings: Sociable evenings in the winter garden promise to be cozy. Anyone who wishes can take part in a short evening exercise session. The seminar content will also take place outdoors in good weather. In bad weather, our seminar room is the heated winter garden with a panoramic view over the Thuringian Basin.
Our educational units take place outdoors: we are on the move together, and in between we continue by bicycle. The seminar day lasts around 6.5 hours, and we are back at the hotel around 3:30 to 4 p.m. During this period the legally required teaching time is fully delivered and used exclusively for the seminar content.
Optional excursions: Excursions to nearby Eisenach and the Wartburg are possible, and Mühlhausen (historic old town, Müntzer memorial site, Bratwurst Museum) and Bad Langensalza (Friederiken Thermal Spa and Japanese Garden) are also lovely Thuringian towns. These excursions are suggestions and not part of the seminar.
Your instructors:
Team of the Waldgasthof Rettelbusch: And not to be forgotten: the team around the cheerful Thuringian Ariane Rettelbusch, who will look after us with great care.
Looking forward to:
Why the Hainich National Park? Several years ago, when we were on holiday in the Hainich National Park (north of Eisenach), we fell deeply in love with it. Why? The Hainich was a military restricted area for decades. Large parts of the forest were hardly entered or used, so the forest stands could develop undisturbed. Today, the former restricted area, covering 130 km², is Germany's largest contiguous broadleaf forest area and one of the oldest and largest beech forests in Europe. That is why the Hainich has been a UNESCO World Natural Heritage site since 2011. And best of all: over 20 further beautiful hiking and cycling trails run through the Hainich, besides the Rennstieg. This primeval forest is beautiful in every season, but in autumn, given good weather, which we will have, the golden autumn beckons: a leaf colouring that captures the soul. Let yourself be inspired by this natural monument, the largest primeval forest in the heart of Germany. We warmly invite you. Tip: Extend your stay at the Waldgasthof Rettelbusch by a few days before or after, so you can fully enjoy the region. The Wartburg near Eisenach is well worth a visit, and the city of Erfurt with its beautiful Krämerbrücke is not far away either.
Bring your own e-bike: Please bring your own e-bike. Alternatively, we can help you arrange a rental e-bike.
